April 25th Meeting, Rachel Davies, Creating an Informative Workplace

I'm pleased to announce that the next AgileScotland meeting will take place at 7:30 on the 25th of April, in the Currie and Brown Office on the Ground Floor, No. 1 Osborne Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5HG. Our speaker will be one of the UK's most active and well known Agile proponents Rachel Davies and she will be speaking about "Creating an Informative Workspace".

Title: Creating an Informative Workspace
Informative Workspace is one of the new XP practices launched in the second edition of XP Explained. The idea is to build feedback mechanisms around an agile team that support them in their daily work. These feedback mechanisms can take the form of visual displays (Information Radiators) that are manually updated by the team or electronic eXtreme Feedback Devices (XFD) such as lava lamps or audio signals linked to automated processes. It is vital to ensure that feedback mechanisms are easy to interpret, low maintenance and adapted to local practices. This talk will explain how to create and maintain an Informative Workspace for your agile team. The speaker will provide supporting examples from her own projects. This talk gives a sneak preview of material to be presented at upcoming XP2005 and Agile2005 conferences.
